The 2019 Outstanding Youth Volunteer Award recipient is Andrew Fancher. Andrew is the founder of “Andy Fancher Presents,” a video series which endeavors to document the personal story of our veterans. Long hours of interviews, documentation, video editing, and voice overs have given us the gift of over seventy stories detailing experiences of service members. In filming this series of interviews, Andrew has ensured that the struggle, sacrifice, and honor due to our heroes will not be lost in the passing of time.

Andrew FancherThe dedication of this young man, volunteering his own time to preserve stories of veterans he did not know, so that people both now and in the future may learn from these first-hand accounts exemplifies selfless service to our community.

The Texas Society DAR was proud to celebrate Andrew’s efforts to ensure veterans stories are recorded for posterity. By presenting him the DAR Service for Veterans Committee’s Outstanding Youth Volunteer Award, we recognize the work put into this worthy cause, and admire the example to America’s youth inspiring national pride and community service. Mr. Fancher was also recognized by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution in June, 2019, as their National Award Recipient.
