In 1911, the committee establishing the Madonna of the Trail statues across the United States

was started, erecting 12 monuments along the Old Roads Trail from Maryland to California.

The statues were dedicated as a tribute to the pioneer women who traveled west during the American westward expansion and settlement. Daughters of the Spring Creek Chapter daughters recently visited 3 of the 12 Madonna of the Trail Statues, from Lamar, CO; in Albuquerque, NM; and in Lexington, MI. There are so many historical and DAR-related sites to visit, and the Spring Creek Daughters show how doable it is!

The Spring Creek Chapter in The Woodlands was chartered in 1983. Now, they meet the second Thursday of the month. To learn more, contact the chapter at springcreekchapterregistrar@gmail.com
