Martha Jefferson Randolph awardSaturday November 7, 2020, Members of Martha Jefferson Randolph DAR presented Community Service Awards and pins to the owners of Ironroot Distillery in Denison.  In April, a column penned by U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, appeared in the news about Texans helping Texans.  In it, he mentioned a local Texoma business, “Johnathan Likarish, the head distiller and co-founder of Ironroot Republic Distillery in Denison, says he got a call from Texoma Regional Medical Center asking if they could help. Of course, he said.”

After some additional investigation we learned that Johnathan, Marcia, and Robert Likarish were making the hand sanitizer and donating it to TMC and any other local health care provider in need, free of charge!

Today we were honored to meet these hometown hero’s and present them with our thanks and Community Service award certificates from the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.    “It’s a family business, that just what we do,” Marcia told us today.   We are proud to recognize these selfless Texan’s helping Texans!
